Hello, I extend a hearty welcome to you. My name is Radha and through my eyes everything looks magical. I married the man of my dreams, my true knight in shining armour, and I’m still falling in love with him. We have two precious and beautiful children who are the greatest gifts of our life. I’m a self taught cook, and I’ve always received flattering complements from everybody. Recently, I have been digging up all the family recipes passed over the generations by my own grandmother as well as my Mother In Law’s (her ammamma’s side) recipes too. So we ladies are having a great time experimenting and catching up. All those treasured recipes will be posted here soon. Please bear with me as I am still working on the pictures and step by step video instructions. This is totally time consuming but is my life mission. |
I would love to get to know you up close on Face Book, and you can catch up with my daily rant on Twitter. You must have a profile picture and you must tell me why you want to join me on Face Book. I am expecting only ardent cooks to join me there. If you never post anything and do not contribute actively on Face Book, I’ll have to remove you. Anybody can subscribe to me on You Tube and Twitter. If you post anything indecent, I’ll promptly remove you and permanently block you from my You Tube channel and my Twitter account too.
Do not copy my hard work without my permission. All these recipes are from my family and all the posted recipes are tried several times before being posted. Copying my work and pictures will be extremely rude. Just ask, it’s as simple as that.
If you would like to advertise, I have some guidelines. Please mail me to find out all my simple rules, like no processed food, no chemicals in food and so on. I will not recommend anything that I personally do not use for my family. The worst critics are my children, without their approval things cannot go very far.
If your comments are indecent or spam, I’ll never post them. Constructive criticism, tips, and your own experiences with a recipe from my blog are much appreciated. Your comments fuel me and keep me motivated. I eagerly check out everyday to read your comments. So do not hold back your thoughts.
Thank you very much for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoy your time here and also when you try these recipes, I hope it makes it to your family cook book. This blog has several generations of women reaching out to you. There is a strong maternal connection going on here, and hope you feel the energy. Do share your valuable recipes and pictures with me.
We are presently working building on a World Pantry, I would need participation from each and everyone of you soon. So watch out for this space by visiting often.
Yours,
RR.

Dear Radha,
I love your recipes but I find myself running to the store every time I want to cook one of your meals. Could you please make a you tube video of what your pantry staples are and how to store them along with any other useful advise?
With kind regards,
Anna
Anna honey,
I will definitely do that. I’m working on ‘Great Pantry’ project to address these very issues in depth. Next time before you make a dish, write to me in advance. I can give you some pointers before you head our for grocery shopping. Shortly I’ll be posting some videos related to this matter. We moved recently, so still opening the boxes.
Hi Radha,
.
I was surprised when I came across your ‘NutriBlog’ section where you spoke about Kefir. I have known how much my mom would stress about the goodness of yoghurt but I was surprised that some one would know about the goodness of Kefir. Do you make it at home and are you into probiotic food and all.
I am and that is why I was curious
Would love to know as its difficult to stay on such a diet without any one to share or relate such info with.

Hi Radha,
I came across your videos on youtube today and I just loved your recipes and presentation…!! a little about me, I am a Software Business Consultant and I live in Hartford, CT, I tried my hands on cooking about 4 years ago and since then there has been no looking back.. it really gives me a high when my friends and family taste my food and they give their feedback… I am sure, you know what I am talking about.
Being a bachelor living away from home, I try my own recipes.
I saw your rasam recipe and I pretty much make it the same way as you do, but for garlic… not a big fan of garlic.. but as you said, cumin and whole pepper powder gives a very distinct flavor..
and normally, I boil cut tomatoes and mash it and mix it dal instead of cooking along with dal.. I think, that adds to a great flavor of tomatoes in rasam..
I continue to watch your videos and learn all the tricks of cooking.. and will definitely will follow your blogs too!!
Keep posting more videos and recipes.
Cheers,
PK
You are absolutely right! There is a definite strong maternal connection I feel when I read this blog. I’m doing exactly the same thing trying to get hold of recipes + cooking material from my ancestors in hope that I retain and educate every other person the true art of Indian cooking.
